Following are excerpts of activities reported by the Greene County sheriff’s office:
Sunday, April 30: At 1:05 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 800 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction.

Thursday, April 27: At 12:26 pm a deputy, Churdan fire department, and Scranton fire department responded to a field fire in the 400 block of 150th St in Cedar Township. At 3:10 pm the sheriff and a deputy investigated a single-vehicle accident on 170th Street near Terrace Ave west of Dana. Fernando Arita of Jefferson, who could not provide proper identification, lost control of a 2008 Infinity EX35 and entered the south ditch, going through a fence and getting stuck in a muddy area in the pasture. Arita was cited for failure to maintain control and failure to provide financial liability. Estimated damage to the vehicle was $1,000.
Wednesday, April 26: At 10:42 am a deputy investigated a complaint of fraud in the 2200 block of M Ave in Greenbrier Township. At 5:34 pm a deputy investigated a burglary in the 1200 block of Head St in Churdan.
Tuesday, April 25: At 3:48 pm a deputy and the Jefferson fire department responded to a bridge on Hwy 4 near 300th St in Franklin Township that was caught on fire by a grass fire. Damage to the bridge was minor. At 5:08 pm a deputy and Jefferson fire responded to a power pole that was on fire in the 900 block of 190th St in Bristol Township. The pole was ignited by a ditch fire.
Monday, April 24: At 11:51 am a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 2100 block of P Ave in Franklin Township. At 2:41 pm a deputy investigated single-vehicle accident on Hwy 25 near 250th St south of Scranton. Rodney Blackmon, 28, of Bayard was southbound when he lost control of a 1999 Subaru Forester and struck a culvert in the east ditch. Damage to the vehicle is estimated at $5,000. At 7:34 pm a deputy and Scranton fire department responded to a train engine fire at D Ave west of Scranton. The fire was out when units arrived.
Sunday, April 23: At 7:03 am a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 1800 block of 283rd Franklin Township. At 3:07 pm a deputy and Jefferson fire responded to an out of control prescribed burn on J Ave near Hwy 30 west of Jefferson. At 3:49 pm a deputy investigated a semi tractor leaking fluid onto the roadway on J Ave near 280th St in Greenbrier Township.
Saturday, April 22: At 8:16 am a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief on U Avenue near 330th St in Washington Township. At 12:42 pm a deputy investigated a scam in the 800 block of Fitzpatrick St in Churdan. At 2:10 pm a deputy, Jefferson fire and Greene County Ambulance responded to a structure fire in the 1000 block of 240th St in Jackson township. The building, a small chicken shed, was complete loss. At 7:42 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a vicious dog in the 100 block of Cartwright St in Rippey.

Thursday, April 20: At 8:38 am a deputy investigated a theft in the 200 block of S. 19th St in Grand Junction. At 1:09 pm a deputy investigated a dog bite in the 500 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction. At 8:21 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in Paton. At 10:39 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a suspicious vehicle near the 2300 block of U Ave on Washington Township. Benjamin Murphy, 40, of Rippey was arrested for public intoxication- simple*.
Wednesday, April 19: At 8:43 am a deputy investigated a complaint of animal neglect in the 900 block of Sand St in Churdan. At 6:10 pm a deputy assisted with cattle out in the 1000 block of U Ave north of Grand Junction.
Tuesday, April 18: At 4:42 am a deputy and Churdan fire responded to barn fire in the 1400 block of 160th St in Dawson Township. The barn was a complete loss. The cause of the fire was a burn pile near the barn. At 10:44 am a deputy investigated a complaint of a vicious dog in the 500 block of S. Wise St in Paton. At 5:39 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a vicious dog in the 600 block of N. 9th St in Grand Junction. At 6:40 pm a deputy investigated a scam in the 1000 block of 170th St in Highland Township. At 9:54 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of assault in the 100 block of 190th St in Kendrick Township.
Monday, April 17: At 11:19 am a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 1000 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction.
Sunday, April 16: At 2:23 pm a deputy conducted a traffic stop on T Ave near 305th St in Washington Township. Eric Grevson, 40, of Jefferson was arrested for driving while license barred*. At 5:16 pm a deputy investigated a single-vehicle rollover accident on M Ave near 210th St in Bristol Township. A juvenile was driving a 2004 Chevrolet S-10 and lost control and rolled the vehicle. The estimated damage to the vehicle was $4,000.
Saturday, April 15: At 1 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 1100 block of 237th St in Jackson Township.
Friday, April 14: At 12:33 am a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 2200 block of 240th Street in Junction Township. At 8:04 am a deputy picked up a stray dog in the 1400 block of T Ave in Junction Township. The dog was taken to the Greene County animal shelter. At 8:52 am a deputy removed a deer from the roadway on Hwy 144 near 190th St north of Grand Junction. At 10:20 am a deputy investigated a complaint of illegal dumping in the 300 block of 130th St in Cedar Township. At 1:14 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of identity theft in the 100 block of 210th St in Kendrick Township. At 3:44 pm a deputy, an Iowa State Trooper, Jefferson fire, and Greene County Ambulance responded to a single vehicle rollover accident on Hwy 4 near 210th St north of Jefferson. The ISP investigated the accident.
Friday, April 14: At 8:04 am a deputy picked up a stray dog in the 1400 block of T Ave in Hardin Township. The dog was taken to the Greene County animal shelter. At 8:52 am a deputy removed a deer from the roadway on Hwy 144 near 190th St north of Grand Junction.
Thursday, April 13: At 9:01 am a deputy investigated a scam complaint in the 200 block of S. 7th St in Grand Junction. Candice Ortiz, 35, of Grand Junction was arrested for an arrest warrant for failure to appear*. At 10:24 am the sheriff assisted with a grass fire and a medical call in the 2400 block of M Ave in Greenbrier Township. The fire was in Guthrie County; the person injured in the fire was found in Greene County. At 10:38 am a deputy assisted the Perry police department with locating the owner of 16 dogs that were dumped at the dog park in Perry.
Wednesday, April 12: At 9:01 am a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 100 block of W. Percival St in Rippey. At 10:31 am a deputy investigated a complaint of identity theft in the 400 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction.
Tuesday, April 11: At 4:26 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 500 block of Main St in Grand Junction. At 5:43 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a male standing naked in his back yard in the 700 block of Sand St in Churdan. At 8:06 pm a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on R Ave near 290th St in Franklin Township. Delores Blanshan, 63, of Waterloo struck a deer with a 2015 Toyota Highlander, causing an estimated $1,000 damage to the vehicle. At 8:36 pm a deputy and Grand Junction fire responded to a grass fire in the 2000 block of T Ave in Washington Township.
Monday, April 10: At 1:49 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 400 block of S. Main St in Paton. At 7:07 pm a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 144 near 260 St. The driver was cited for driving while suspended. During the stop the deputy smell marijuana and conducted a search, locating suspected marijuana. Charges are pending lab results.
Sunday, April 9: At 6:17 am a deputy investigated a possible stolen credit card in the 500 block of N. 16th St in Grand Junction. At 11:42 am a deputy, Jefferson fire department, and Churdan fire department responded to a grass fire in the 800 block of I Ave in Bristol Township. At 7:15 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of littering in the 2000 block of 305th St in Washington Township.

Friday, April 7: At 3:34 pm a deputy investigated a burglary in the 100 block of Percival St in Rippey. At 4:45 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of animal neglect in the 200 block of S. 19th St in Grand Junction. At 7:21 pm a deputy and the DNR investigated dead geese that were found on 283rd St and Redwood Ave in Franklin Township.

Wednesday, April 5: At 11:05 am the sheriff and deputies conducted a search warrant at a room at the Cobblestone Inn and on a vehicle that was stopped on Hwy 4 near 210th St. Suspected controlled substances and drug paraphernalia were located. Troy Harbacheck, 63, of Moorland was arrested for a controlled substance violation, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance*. At 3 pm a deputy investigated a scam in the 700 block of Walnut St in Scranton.
Tuesday, April 4: At 2 pm a deputy investigated a scam in the 200 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction. At 5:06 pm a deputy located a small child walking on Madison St near Main St in Scranton. The child was returned to their residence. At 5:58 pm a deputy investigated a counterfeit bill at Casey’s General Store in Scranton. At 11:29 pm a deputy removed a deer from the roadway in the 1000 block of Hwy 30 west of Jefferson.
Monday, April 3: At 12:19 am a deputy assisted the Boone police department with a harassment case in Scranton.
Sunday, April 2: At 11:35 am the sheriff and a deputy investigated a fight at the Scranton pond park. Brandon Smith, 46, of Des Moines and Jamie Theulen, 26, of Scranton were both arrested for disorderly conduct*.
